Wege zu einer globalen Wissenschaftssoziologie

Der Beitrag schlägt eine globale Wissenschaftssoziologie vor, die sich um die Herstellung von wissenschaftlichem Wissen in diversen historischen und gesellschaftlichen Kontexten dreht und unter Berücksichtigung einer geteilten kolonialen Vergangenheit und Gegenwart danach fragt, wie allgemeine Gesellschaftsstrukturen mit wissenschaftlichen Praktiken, Institutionen und Forschungsgemeinschaften zusammenhängen. Zunächst werden Arbeiten in den globalen Soziologien im Hinblick auf ihren gemeinsamen Fokus auf eine Kritik des Wissens diskutiert, bevor der bestehende Austausch mit der Wissenschaftsforschung besprochen und für einen Rückgriff auf Mertons Beiträge argumentiert wird. Aufbauend darauf werden im zweiten Teil Publikationskulturen als ein strategischer Forschungsgegenstand für einen Dialog der zwei Felder identifiziert und auf Forschung aus bibliometrischer und holistischer Perspektive verwiesen. Exemplarisch wird anhand zentraler Beiträge zur lateinamerikanischen Debatte zum Publikationswesen elaboriert, wie eine globale Wissenschaftssoziologie aussehen könnte, die die Dynamik sowie die globalen Ungleichheiten und Verflechtungen der Wissenschaft ernst nimmt.
