Biopolitik revisited
Ein neues Regime der Kryopolitik?

In den letzten zehn Jahren hat eine Reihe von Wissenschaftler:innen den Begriff „Kryopolitik“ oder „Kryomacht“ vorgeschlagen, um die tiefgreifenden sozio-materiellen Veränderungen durch Praktiken der Tiefkühlkonservierung zu erfassen. In meinem Beitrag werde ich diesen begrifflichen Vorschlag aufgreifen und ihn mit der aktuellen Debatte um Technologien der Antizipation verknüpfen. Dieser Syntheseversuch soll Grundlinien und Dimensionen einer Politik der Suspension (politics of suspension) kenntlich machen. Sie rekonfiguriert traditionelle Zeit- und Raumkonzepte und hält vitale Prozesse in einem Schwebezustand zwischen Leben und Tod – ein Zustand, den ich als „aufgehobenes“ oder „aufgeschobenes Leben“ bzw. im Englischen: als „suspended life“ bezeichne.
