Flexibler Autoritarismus
Innovationen als Garant für Demokratie?

Der Beitrag stellt flexiblen Autoritarismus als Konzept vor, das transnationale und politökonomische Dimensionen autoritären Wandels berücksichtigt. Er zeigt am Beispiel des gegenwärtigen europäischen Innovationsdiskurses, dass das konzeptionelle Gerüst des flexiblen Autoritarismus über den russischen Fall hinaus der Erforschung einer neuartigen autoritären Konstellation zuträglich ist. Vielerorts, nicht nur in Russland, bilden heute Start-Up-Ästhetiken, flexible Lebensführung und die staatliche Förderung vermarktbarer Innovationen Eckpunkte dieser Konstellation. Vor dem Hintergrund autoritären Wandels beleuchtet der Beitrag das Verhältnis von Innovation und Demokratie. Selbstverwirklichung und innovatio werden als wesentliche Elemente von Demokratisierung bestimmt. Statt der vorschnellen Aufgabe dieser Ziele wird dafür plädiert, diese neu zu bestimmen, um ihre kollektive Verwirklichung zu ermöglichen.
