Anmerkungen zur Kritikkontroverse

Abstract

Der Beitrag entwickelt Überlegungen zur Fortführung der Kritikkontoverse in der Soziologie. Argumentiert wird, dass jede Form der Kritik, auch die Soziologie der Kritik, normative Maßstäbe in Anspruch nehmen muss. Daran anschließend werden Möglichkeiten einer reflexiven Soziologie gezeigt, die auf den Gestus der Belehrung zugunsten eines dialogischen Verständnisses soziologischer Aufklärung verzichtet. Zudem wird vorgeschlagen, zwischen einer minimalistischen und einer starken Konzeption soziologischer Kritik zu unterscheiden.

The paper develops reflections on the continuation of the controversy about critique in sociology. It is argued that any form of criticism, including the sociology of critique, has to make use of normative standards. Subsequently the possibilities of a reflexive sociology, which forgoes the gesture of instruction in favour of a dialogical understanding of sociological elucidation, will be pointed out. Moreover it is proposed to distinguish between a minimalist and a strong conception of sociological criticism.
