Die DGS und der Nationalsozialismus

Abstract

Ausgehend von einer kurzen Reflexion der Soziologie zum Ende der Weimarer Republik beschäftigt sich der Beitrag sowohl mit der Geschichte der DGS im Nationalsozialismus als auch mit der parallelen inhaltlichen Entwicklung der Soziologie nach 1933. Im Fokus der Aufmerksamkeit liegen die Umstände der Stilllegung der DGS und das für die Stilllegung bedeutsame nationalsozialistische Jenaer Soziologentreffen von 1934.

Based on short reflections on the sociological state of the art at the end of the Republic of Weimar the article deals with the history of the DGS during National Socialism as well as with the development of the sociological profession after 1933. The main focus is on the circumstances of the closedown of the DGS and on the meeting of sociologists in 1934 in Jena, which – highly influenced by National Socialism – played an important role for the closure of the DGS.
