Studierende als transitorische Intellektuelle

Abstract

In dem Beitrag wird ein Begriff von »Intellektuellen« entwickelt und geprüft, inwie­ weit die soziale Situation und spezifische Denk- und Ausdrucksformen Studieren­ der dem entsprechen. Dies führt dazu, Studierende als transitorische Intellektuelle zu bezeichnen. Die Anschlussthese lautet, dass heute Intellektualität nicht mehr auf Personen, sondern auf Texte zu beziehen ist. Diese Perspektive ist geeignet, Chan­ cen für das Praktizieren von Intellektualität über das Ende des Studiums hinaus sichtbar zu machen.

First, the contribution develops a notion of »intellectuals«. It then explores whether university students’ social situation and their specific forms of thinking and expressing their ideas are in compliance with the concept of intellectuals described before. This leads to characterizing students as transitory intellectuals. Subsequently it is argued that intellectuality can no longer be referred to subjects but has to be applied to texts. From this point of view it is possible to uncover chances for practical intellectuallity beyond the end of the university studies.
